Forest Protection Limited is a private company owned by a group of New Brunswick Forest Stakeholders. They are:

Our offices are located in Fredericton and Miramichi, in New Brunswick, Canada. Since its incorportation in 1952, the Forest Protection Limited mandate has been to protect forests with services such as fire management, pest management and aerial surveys. We’ve been a federally licensed “702” aerial work operator since 1977, and our mandate was expanded in 1992 to include unlimited activities.

Our air fleet includes six new turbine engine Air Tractor AT-802s, the world's largest single engine aircraft in production. Forest Protection Limited has customized the fleet with a range of specialized equipment, computers and software making these aircraft unique to Canada and abroad.

We continually research and invest in new equipment and techniques so that we can respond quickly and effectively to any task with the best tools and know-how in the industry. Because of our commitment to research and technology, the Canadian and American science community has invited us to participate in numerous research trials, the results of which have formed the basis for regulations set by federal and provincial agencies across the country.

Our staff are highly trained professionals, operating safe, well-maintained aircraft. Our pilots are more than just skilled at flying at low altitudes. They are also well-versed in the use of fire retardents, pesticides and other applications. All our staff are alert to subtle climatic conditions to ensure an effective application.

We work regularly with a variety of organizations including provincial departments of Natural Resources and Environment, private companies, and the federal departments such as Canadian and United States Forest Service. Our activities with these organizations include Research and Development partnerships, forest fire suppression new technology testing, and insect control. Forest Protection Limited has played a key role in field trials of sex pheromones and biological insecticides using with state-of-the art delivery technologies that allow us to optomize low volume delivery with the maximum benefit to the forest and people.
