are only 30 flying Grumman TBM Avengers still in the skies. The fleet owned by FPL, as featured on the
cover of November
2001 Smithsonian Air & Space Magazine, is the last
working fleet of its kind.
The mighty TBM Avenger was flown by former
US President George H.W. Bush during WWII. On September
2, 1944, during his 58th mission, Mr. Bush's Avenger was
shot down near the island of Chichi Jima. He was rescued
at sea by the crew of the USS Finback. Bush received the
Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in action. During
a summer 2002 visit, FPL was honored to have Mr.
Bush sign the outside hull of our TBM Avenger #23.
Maintained in accordance with FAA and
Transport Canada regulations, these Avengers are still a
thrill to fly. Whether you're a museum, private collector,
air show, movie studio or simply looking for a reliable,
economical aircraft to handle fire protection, pest management

an inventory of over 2800 different TBM part numbers as
well as many original TBM parts!
